Mr.Childrenは、日本の4人組ロックバンドです。1989年に結成した。今回は1996年発売の5番目アルバム「深海」から「花」という作品をご紹介します。同年代のボーカル桜井さんの成長と自分の成長が重なります。現在、彼らは30周年ツアー真っ最中。彼が今も本当に輝いていてくれて嬉しいです。(English) Mr. Children is a Japanese four-people rock band formed in 1989. I want to introduce a piece called "Flower" from their fifth album, "Deep sea," released in 1996. The growth of Mr. Sakurai, the vocalist of the same age generation, coincides with my evolution. The first video of Inaba's first dialogue with the B'z band was released.
"Kazutoshi Sakurai and Hiroshi Inaba / Vocalist Dialogue"
Sakurai revealed that he had undergone vocal cord surgery.
He had suffered a cerebellar infarction in 2002.
As a result, he had to take medication to prevent blood clots from forming.
However, due to his singing profession, he was constantly bleeding internally.
Therefore, he first stopped taking the medication.
Next, the hardened vocal cords in his throat were burned with a laser.

In 1995
In October, the melody for the 11th single "Hana -Mémento-Mori-" from the 5th album, "Deep Sea," was completed.
In 1997
In June, it was rumored that the reason for the band's hiatus was due to reports of Sakurai's infidelity in February of the same year, as well as rumors of a disagreement with producer Takeshi Kobayashi.
"There have been theories of a breakup, but I don't know if I'll continue with Mr.Children."
"I can't afford to think about Mr.Children. I'm too busy thinking about myself."
"I want to die."
"I thought I would kill myself during 'Shinkai (Deep sea).'"
The band decided that they needed to take a break, both mentally and physically, due to the exhaustion caused by their crowded schedule, and decided to take a break.
However, the timing of the hiatus coincided with Sakurai's affair.
Even now, it is said that "Mr.Children went on hiatus because of the revelation of the affair."
In reality, however, there is no relation, just a coincidence.

Sakurai explained the meaning of adding "Mr."
"Mr." and "Children" seem to be opposites.
However, they also mean "formless" or "uncategorizable."
We want our music to remain in the hearts of many people, from adults to children.
