映画の舞台はオーストリアのザルツブルク。1938年のドイツによるオーストリア併合を目前に控えた戦乱期。ドイツに併合され消えゆく祖国オーストリアを想い、オーストリアの軍人トラップ大佐が、オーストリアの象徴として『エーデルワイス』を哀しく歌います。『エーデルワイス』原曲の歌詞には、祖国オーストリアへの想い・願いが切々と歌いこまれています。今年2022年、映画公開から50年が経ちました。特別な記念行事の動画もお楽しみください。(English) The film is set in Salzburg, Austria, during the period of warfare before the annexation of Austria by Germany in 1938. Colonel Trapp, an Austrian soldier, sings "Edelweiss" as a symbol of Austria, mournfully thinking of his disappearing homeland, Austria, which Germany annexed in 1938. The lyrics of the original song "Edelweiss" are filled with sincere wishes for his land, Austria. This year, 2022, marks 50 years since the film was released. Austria, 1938.

At the rector's order, a young nun's apprentice comes as a governess to the home of a strict retired naval colonel.

Her warm personality and musical pedagogy make her well-liked by the seven children, but she is constantly in conflict with their father, the Colonel.

However, she gradually realizes she is attracted to him and is troubled.

When the Colonel eventually asks her to remarry, she returns to the convent heartbroken.
